Batesville Library - After Hours Concert
Batesville Memorial Public Library, 7 to 9 pm
Library After Hours Concert Series 2012
Planet D Nonet, a 9-piece band from Detroit, will swing into Batesville Not our grandparents swing band, a typical PD9 gig might involve very early jazz from Louis Armstrong or Mezz Mezzrow, Duke Ellington & Fletcher Henderson swing charts from the 30s proto- Detroit R & B from Paul “Huckelbuck” Williams, King Porter or Todd Rhodes, or space-age jazz from Sun Ra. Whatever they do they always have a Detroit twist and plenty of good humor with an eye toward turning people onto this kind of music as it is so important that people experience this music live in person. Free to the public.
